Mazarine Butterfly Fairy

So, it’s no secret that I love fairies and will grab any opportunity to colour one up.  Mazarine Butterfly Fairy is new in at Whimsy Stamps this month, isn’t she just the sweetest?

I coloured her with copic markers:

Skin:  E04, 11, 00, 000, 0000, R20
Hair: E50, 21, 25, 27
Dress: R43, 20, 01, 000, 0000; G02, 12, 000, 0000

I used Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and a cloud stencil to do the cloud background

The papers are from a Craft & You paper pad.  I’m trying so hard to use up some of the mountains of paper that I have lol.

The little silver/enamel butterfly is a gift from a lovely friend … thank you sweets xo

I used a sentiment from the new Everyday Scripted Sentiments stamps.  Love the small block caps font with the script, they work so well together.

Naia the Mermaid

I’m back!  I forgot just how much work goes into going on holiday.  My hubby had a very special birthday last month so as a treat for him we went on a cruise around the Med.  On my life!!  We totally fell in LOVE with cruising (first timers and all that lol) and especially with Capri.  Oh to be able to afford to live there, but at 12 euros for a half a pint of lager that won’t happen unless our lottery numbers come up!

So, to stretch out the memories of our time at sea my card today is definitely along those lines.  The stamp is new in at Whimsy Stamps this month, Naia the Mermaid.  I absolutely love her and her little turtle pal so hard.

I used the following copic markers:

Skin: E04, 11, 00, 000, 0000, R20
Hair: E55, 53, 51, 50
Mermaid: BG78, 75, 72
Turtle: E43, 42, 41, 40; BG96, 83, YG61

I free-handed some plants and sand to anchor (ha!) the image and added some light with very pale copics (BG0000, 000, 70, G0000, 000)

I used the new Mermaid Scales Stencil and some Iced Spruce Distress Ink to carry the sea theme through on to the backing papers.  The little bubbles and netting are dies from my stash.

I printed out one of the Everyday Banner Sentiments and trimmed the end into a fishtail.

Norbert and Fiona

I really don’t know what’s cuter – the dragon or the name.  I mean, really …. Norbert!  Can you say CUTE lolol.  This is another new stamp for May at Whimsy Stamps, I’m really loving these Marina Fedotova images so hard.  I fussy cut the images from the Norbert and Fiona Playtime stamp set after colouring them and popped them up on some 3D foam amongst the grassy layers that I die cut with the Grass and Cloud Edger Die Set.  Before adhering Fiona and Norbert in place I inked the clouds using a die cut from scrap cards also from the grass and cloud edger set.

I’ve used a sentiment from the digital Everyday Banner Sentiments, but instead of using the white text on black (which didn’t fit for this soft coloured card), I inverted the image in Photoshop so I got the black text on white background, which fitted in nicely with the pastel theme.

Love love LOVE how the colouring turned out on this card.

I used some Nitwits digital papers for a change, and coloured the images up to match the papers.  You can see the dimension the fussy cutting gives the card in the picture below.  Naw, bunny is getting a lift from Norbert.  Too stinking cute.

The “lace” is a die by Joanna Sheen, the scalloped pearl square is by Tattered Lace.

Shaker Card

Mother’s Day is a distant memory for us here in the UK, but I think most of the rest of the world are celebrating it next Sunday.  Whilst I was making this one I got to wondering why we don’t celebrate it with the rest of the world, I think I need to Google that one.

Anyhoo, on to my card, I used new goodies from Whimsy Stamps – The Card Builder Windows Die Set (to make the shaker).  Before die cutting it I stamped out the new Burlap Background stamp onto white card stock with Pumice Stone Distress Ink.  I applied glitter paste through the Beaded Curtain Stencil onto patterned paper and used this as the background for the shaker card.  I finished off a digital sentiment from the Everyday Banner Sentiments and some mulberry flowers and die cut leaves from the Leaf Foliage 2 die set

The sequins are a selection I picked up from The Range, some are from the “cheap rack”, some are Tonic brand.

Emma and Aimé

Yesterday saw the start of the new release inspiration at Whimsy Stamps.  There are such fabulous new goodies out this month, and more delectable Marina Fedotova sweeties.  My card today features Emma and Aimé.  I’ve used a sentiment from the digital Everyday Banner Sentiments, but instead of using the white text on black (which didn’t fit for this soft coloured card), I inverted the image in Photoshop so I got the black text on white background.  I love that I can manipulate the sentiments like this to get the perfect fit for my card.
