Sending my love

Shoo this has been a busy old week on my blog!  Here’s the last card that I did for the February Whimsy Stamps release, and I’m back to my shabby again.  I’m really loving this style of card right now.  The stamp set I used is Friendly Flowers, this time I used a sentiment and also the little dandelions were used as the focal point which I layered on to the Doodled Doily Die.

I made the large creamy Foamiran flowers, and filled in the arrangement with some mulberry flowers. These flowers are so darn easy to make, and are so addictive too!

The It’s a party enamel dots once again were the perfect match for the Kaisercraft Provincial paper that I used.

Spring Fox

Here’s my second card for this month’s Whimsy Stamps  release.  The stamps I’ve used are Spring Fox and the sentiment is from the Friendly Flowers set.  How cute is that little fox!!  I’ve also used the Doodled Doily Die from an earlier release

I coloured the image with copic markers and added some tufts of grass from the Friendly Flowers stamps – this set is going to be so useful for grounding images.  I did the sky background using a Dutch Doobadoo cloud stencil and some Tumbled Glass distress ink.

The papers are As if in a dream Retro by Galeria.  Love the vintage colours of this pack.

I’ll be back tomorrow afternoon with another release card.

Our February 2017 release party has started over on the Whimsy Stamps and Inspirations Facebook group. Pop across to join in with games, fun, and a chance to win Whimsy prizes too.

We are releasing 12 new red rubber images and 6 new clear stamp sets.  Everything is available here, so do pop across to see all of the new stamping goodness.

I’m using the Clearly Whimsy Typography stamp set for my first card for release week.  I LOVE this set!  I stamped out the letters then punched them out using a small (1/2”) punch and mounted the circles on foam tape for a bit of extra dimension.

I also used the Double Scallop Doily Die – Circle as one of the layers, but I cut out the centre so it looks like more of a frame.  I highlighted the frame by popping in a clock sticker.  I finished off with some It’s a party enamel dots  - the blue is a perfect match for the Alice’s Dreams papers.

I’lll be back tomorrow afternoon with another new reveal.

Dream Catcher

I don’t have a dream catcher die and wanted to make a card using one soooo, I cobbled on together using a few different dies.  I made a frame using a couple circle dies, trimmed a doily die cut to fit the back of the frame then arranged some feathers at the bottom.  Job done and no new dies were added to my collection lol.  I’ll take that as a win because the sheer number of dies I have is ridonkulous!!

I made all the flowers using Foamiran which I got from Noor Design.  They sell the larger and thinner sheets which are way better than some of the other sheets that I first got.  The thicker ones are A4 in size and definitely not as pliable.  The flowers were die cut from Rosy Dot dies also from Noor Design.  I used pigment inks to colour the foam although the pink one is darker than I would’ve like and that’s because I used pink foam.  I think I prefer the softer effect that I got on the blue one using white as the base and building up the colour.  Oh, the leaf die is also Rosy Dot and yep, also from Noor Design.

I love how the dream catcher turned out.

I perched a paper clay bird on one of the branches and stencilled a sentiment in the bottom right corner.  I even got the old sewing maching out for this one.  Oooh go me!

Have a fab week.  I’ll be back Wednesday thru Friday for cards featuring stamps from the February Whimsy release.

You make my heart smile

Eek I’m so excited!  I designed a set of sentiments for the Whimsy Stamps February Digital release called Vintage Sentiments, so of course I had to use one on my card today.  I love how these turned out, and they’re digital so easily manipulated in a simple program like Word to get the exact size needed.

Here’s what I did with one of the sentiments

I used First Edition The Promise paper pad, and hightlighted the butterflies on the paper with some platinum stickles.  The flowers also got a liberal coating.  Speaking of flowers, I ordered some from I Am Roses and am so SO impressed with their service, the parcel arrived within the week and the P&P is a ridiculous low 50 cents for each item.  Did I say I was impressed?

This was such a fun card to make, I especially love the papers, perfect for a vintage look.
