A little bit of drama

Happy New Year!  I hope 2016 is going to be an exceptional one for us all.

Today’s card is all about the drama, and nothing shouts drama than black (a colour I am terrified of ha!).  I had a bit of a sort through my paper stash several weeks back so my grandkids could have some stuff for play group and also beavers.  They went away happy kiddoes.  Anyhow, whilst I was sorting I found a box of Prima pads that had never seen the light of day and this one jumped out at me, so in between sorting out I whipped up this card.

I love this metal clock, it’s part of a set of charms from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I cut out some of the clocks from the papers and popped them in the bottom right corner, and also broke up the black a bit by adding a die cut butterfly (Cheery Lynn I think).  And just peeking out beneath the flowers are a couple of gold metal flowers.  Love these.

And of course finished off with some delish Wild Orchid Crafts flowers and a seam binding bow (product details at the end of the post).  The leaves are a Memory Box branch die, and the doily die is by Crafters Companion.

Another Victorian Christmas

Here’s another card using the Prima Victorian Christmas pad that I was gushing over a couple of weeks ago.  Love, love, LOVE this pad!

I dug out my Starlights paints from Imagination Crafts in green and gold and painted some scrap card to die cut the leaves from.  This paint is spectacular, the shine is amazing!  It even covered the plastic pearl on the snowflake with just a couple of coats.

Yes, I used another Pretty Flori poinsettia, this time I pulled the minty green berries out the centre, it just didn’t work with the rich red so I substituted with a gold berry cluster instead.

A Victorian Christmas

I eventually got around to using one of the paper pads sat on top of a mountain of Christmas pads.  This one is by Prima – A  Victorian Christmas and it’s absolutely gorgeous!

Apologies the die cut sentiment is a bit blurred, darn camera has a mind of its own when focussing!  It’s clear and sharp in the picture at the end of the post.

I also had a play with some of the new Pretty Flori Christmas flowers from WOC, sublime!

Believe

Last weeks card was very Victorian, I’ve switched it up this week with a more modern colour scheme using First Edition Silent Night papers.

Once again I’ve used those delish Pretty Flori Christmas flowers, very yum!  I sprayed white roses with a silver glimmer mist to lift the large poinsettia.

I die cut the frondy leaves from acetate and blinged them up with glitter.  LOVE how they turned out.  I also used leaves from guipure lace (link below)

And a peek at the inside, finished off to match the front.  This is not my usual style or colours but I really love how this turned out, and it didn’t take long to make either (apart from the drying time for the leaves)
