I have wanted these Ellie stamps from Stamposaurus Stamps for ages and never got round to getting any so when I was commissioned to make some cards using these sweet little elephants I was thrilled. I really loved making this card – it made such a change after all the Christmas cards.
The papers are Prima Jack & Jill, love the brown/blue combo. I edged the papers (and everything else!!) with Walnut Stain distress ink then went round with Stickles after stitching the papers in place.
The stars are die cut from a Sizzix die from thin chipboard (someone asked me what I cut chipboard with – if it’s thin I run it through my Cuttlebug, if it’s the thick chipboard I use my trusty old Sizzix die cutter – the ancient red one – but am restricted with what dies I use as it don’t take the Bigz dies.) I coated the stars with TH Crackle paint – picket fence – then once it was dry I applied the walnut stain ink and Stickles to the edges. The sentiment is SU Riveted (I think this may have been discontinued, but not 100% sure).
The gorgeous lace was in a DT pack and I love it! The ribbon is that seam binding again, it started life as ivory but I spritzed it with Glimmer Mist and scrunched it up then left it to dry. I punched two holes in the small star (Quickutz die) then threaded the seam binding through for a button effect.
The image has been coloured with Promarkers. I used Cool Grey 3,2,1 and blender for Ellie, pastel pink and almond for the ear and paw, meadow and marsh green and a touch of blender for the grass, cornflower and pastel blue for the butterfly and flower.
The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts – 20mm rose, Cherry Blossom, and 15mm roses.
Apologies for all the photos, I do tend to go overboard sometimes lol. The leaves and butterfly are both Martha Stewart punches.
Right, I’ve totally exhausted myself now lol so I’ll say cheerio.
hugs
