Whimsy Stamps Holiday release blog hop

Today is Whimsy Stamps Blog hop day to celebrate the launch of their new Holiday stamps by Crissy Armstrong and Ann Vento. All the DT has been posting sneak peeks since Wednesday and today you can see them all, just check them out in the store

The blog hop starts here so you’re in the right place if you’re just starting the hop.

I decided to showcase a stamp from the Whimsy Vintage Christmas – I adore this set and although it is so very different from my usual style I know I will be getting a lot of use out of this set. I’ve made two cards using the poinsettia and two sentiments. First up is a traditional card (I think, even with the black).

I love this Basic Grey Jovial pad!! So not my usual colours but soooo yummy. The image has been coloured with copics.

Next up is a non-traditional card, loving the peachiness lol.

I heat embossed the image and sentiment with Gold Fine Detail embossing powder then coloured with Copics. The copics did not like the embossing very much so I had to be real careful to avoid colouring over the embossing. Love this effect.

The next stop on the hop is Vanja. Make sure you follow the hop as there are some fab prizes along the way PLUS a grand prize of all 9 stamps.

The hop will run through Thursday 7th October 12 noon EST. Have fun and good luck!

Thanks for stopping by,

Kenny K challenge - Bling it on

It’s my team’s turn to provide the cards for this weeks Kenny K Krafty Girlz Challenge and we have a fab, easy challenge too … Bling it on.  The girls have come up with some brilliant sparkly cards and we have Jacqui as our Guest Designer.  Thanks for joining us this week sweetie.

I have not coloured many of the Gothik Angelz images and fancied doing something different this week (okay so what’s with the pink then Bev??)  So, I coloured up Lady Raven – isn’t she gorgeous!! Lurve those boots lol.

Not much bling going on here – I wanted to use a rhinestone buckle but didn’t have any black ribbon!!  I was in shock lol.  So off out to Dainty Supplies and Hobbycraft today to stock up if I can get moving (got a bit of back trouble going on at the mo, not nice :(

I’ll pop this card on Ebay later this evening.

I’ve decided to go back to listing the products and Copics at the end of the post instead of waffling on through the post so you have to hunt out the info.

Image: Lady Raven by Kenny K, sentiment – Autumn Leaves Ticketed, scroll stamp is Stempelglede from Quixotic Paperie
Paper: Basic Grey
Embellishments:  Lace from Wild Orchid Crafts, flowers from my neglected stash, rhinestone spacers and brads from The Hobby House and lots of Stardust Stickles
Copics: Greys C9, C7, C5, C3, C1, C00, W5, W3, W1 (shadow), Pinks R95, R83, R81, RV10, Skin E21, E00, E000, R02

I’ll be back later this afternoon with my card for the Whimsy Stamps Holiday Release by Crissy Armstrong blog hop.

I’m still full of busy (although the Magnolia card was made ages ago). First up is another sneak peek from the Whimsy Stamps holiday release that goes on sale tomorrow!! Crissy Armstrong has really designed the most amazing stamps (I’m holding out with my FAVE set of the release till the blog hop tomorrow and I know it’s been a favourite with quite a lot of the girlies). This little cutie is called Starry Night – just love it and it was a doddle to colour too.

The ticket sentiment is also from the new release, designed by Ann Vento (who does the most scrummiest sentiment stamps!!). The papers are Fancy Pants and my gingham background (a freebie – link in the sidebar). I just die cut and punched some snowflakes out of glitter card and popped some brads and spacers on, and added lots of Stickles for the bling factor

My second card is for a GDT spot on Totally Gorjuss. The challenge this week is a fab sketch (me loves simple sketches so this one was right up my street lol).

The papers are from the Prima Jack and Jill pad that I got from Charmed Cards and Crafts – I love this pad, each page is just better than the next! Out came the Doo Hickey tag die and the dragonfly die (such a shame the doily die was such a huge disappointment!!! Half a die??? What’s that all about!!!). I sent mine back and will stick with the Marianne D doily dies – they cut perfectly every time and are a far nicer size and NO FAFFING with cutting twice and ending up with a back to front crinkled die cut. No thanks!! The sentiments are both from a Kaiser sentiment set that I got from Oyster Stamps.

Check out that fab vintagey ribbon (bias binding really lol). I just gave it a good old scrunch then tied a couple of bows, glued one on top of the other then topped it off with a pearl button – love it! The lace I have had in my scraps box for ages.

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts natch. I used 10mm roses, 20mm roses and 30mm wild rose. The pearls are also from WOC.

That’s all from me today – I have another two cards tomorrow (then normality will resume for a while lol). Enjoy your weekend.

Thanks for stopping by,

Just Magnolia, Whimsy Sneak Peek and Crafters Companion monthly challenge

I’ve got another novel today, there’s just so much happening at once all of a sudden.

First up is another Whimsy Stamps sneak peek.  Today I am showing Jingle Bell Ride – another of Crissy Armstrong’s amazing carousel horse images.

The papers are from my scrap box, so I have no idea who they are by.  The gorgeous punch is one of the new Martha Stewart punches, the poinsettias are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I have applied Twinklets to them for some sparkle.  I’ve coloured the image with Copics and applied Fun Flock to the fur. The new Christmas images go on sale on 3rd October.

Copics used are:
Horse:  C9, C7, C5, C3, C1, C0, C00
Greens: YG67, YG63, YG11
Reds: R29, R24, R22
Bells:  YR24, Y11

Next up is my card for the Crafters Companion Monthly Challenge – it’s one of my sketches with the option of a untraditional Christmas Card.  Well these browns and duck egg blues are about as untraditional as I could come up with

The papers are Eline’s Vintage Christmas (I just love this pad).  I’ve applied Diamond Stickles to the edges of the papers, the gold in the stickles really shows up against the darker shades.  The flowers – well I know the 15mm roses, 4mm rose buds and 25mm hybrid tea roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts but not sure where the blue one came from, I found it in a box of bits and bobs lol.  The lace is also from Wild Orchid Crafts.

The image was coloured with Copics:
Hair:  E55, E53, E51, E50
Skin:  E21, E00, E000, R20
Cardi, ribbons and slippers:  BG13, BG11, BG10, BG000
Trousers: E77, E74, E714, E70
Cat:  C5, C3, C0

And last my Just Magnolia card for the “Anything Goes” Special Monthly Challenge.

Another easel card (no surprise there then lol).  The gorgeous paper is MME La Paperie.  The flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts again, 40mm hybrid tea rose, cherry blossoms, aster daisies, 4mm rose buds.

I’m still making the little tags (thanks for the fab idea Rach xx), they just seem to finish the card off perfectly.

The Copic colours are:
Hair, jeans, shoes and handbag: E79, E77, E74, E71, E70
Top: R85, R83, R81
Shopping bags: E44, E42, E40
Skin: E21, E00, E000, R20

And after that novel I am going to lie down in a dark room rofl.

Thanks for stopping by,
