Whiff of Joy Sketch challenge

We have a fabulous sketch by Donalda on Whiff of Joy Challenges this week, I really loved working with it.

woj-challenge-flowers-ppettIt gave me the perfect opportunity to use this gorgeous ruby red organza ribbon – you know me and me ribbons (oh okay – and me flowers and charms lol).

I carried the theme through to the inside and used the sweet Whiff of Joy flowers stamp on the inside as well as the front.

Sorry about the skew whiff picture, I couldn’t get a decent shot of both sides of the inside of the card so you’ll have to tilt your head .. sorry :)

I coloured the Bunch of Flowers image from Whiff of Joy with the usual distress inks and H2O's, the sentiment on the front is from a Stampin Up set, the inside sentiment has been computer generated. The papers are Pink Petticoat and the corner punch is a Stampin Up one.

One card, four challenges

I had originally done this card just for this weeks Basic Grey challenge which is a fab sketch, but discovered the card fitted this weeks Everybody Art challenge (Valentine card), Papertake Weekly challenge (hearts and flowers) and One Stop Craft challenge (buttons and/or bows).woj-heart-4-challenges

I’ve used Basic Grey Bittersweet papers for this card, some stitching, and found this delish flower in a pack at Hobbycraft. It was the perfect colour match so it had to go on lol.

I have coloured Melinda Hugging Heart from Whiff of Joy with distress inks and H2O’s, did a bit of pricking around the image and shock horror!! I never used a single nestibility! I need to go lie down in a darkened room now I think lol.

The sentiment is from Elzybells.

Friday Sketchers 37

Carole has done the most amazing sketch for Friday Sketchers this week and one I will definitely be using again and again. I did a bit of masking today, I was going to be lazy and run the ribbon right across for Tilda to sit on but changed my mind (as you do).

I couldn’t get a decent pic of the inside – oh for sunny days!!

The Magnolia images have been coloured with distress inks and H2O’s, the sentiment is from Whiff of Joy Party Sentiments, the papers are Imaginisce and the rest is from my stash.

Magnolia vs Stampavie Colour Challenge and a little toot

Donna has set a Colour challenge this week, the colours that have to be used are Brown, Sage, Pink and White (Stampin Up colours Close to Cocoa, Pretty in Pink, Sage Shadow and Whisper White).

Before I go on to the card details I have to have my little toot - I woke up this morning to a whole load of messages on the SCS forum - guess what!! I'm this weeks Featured Stamper, somebody pinch me - I'm dreaming for sure!! So much has happened since I started blogging in April - I am so in shock lol.

Now I struggled with this - I could not find any papers in my huge stash that had this combination of colours so I didn't use any SU cardstock. I ended up going with dark brown, sage, pink and white - all non-SU. Thank goodness for that old HOTP pad that I got from QVC yonks ago - it's helped me out once again - phew!!
sarah-kay-1st-colour-combo The sentiment on the inside looks totally skew whiff here but it's not, honest. I've kept the inside pretty plain and simple again, the floral stamp and scoll is from that free set that I bought the Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine for. Now that was a bargain, it's a fab collection of useful stamps.
The Sarah Kay image has been coloured with the usual distress inks and H2O's. The sentiment on the front is from the freebie stamp set as is the flowers and scroll on the inside. The sentiment on the inside is from Elzybells
Papers are all from the HOTP QVT TSV kit from a couple of years ago
Scallop punch is from Stampin Up, as is the label punch
Corners on the front of the card are cut from a Quickutz die as is the scrolls.
Rest of stuff from stash
