Slimline Pandas

Two cards in one week, the break must have done me good!  I've used the other new Slimline Embossing Folder for my card, this one is Slimline Embossing Folder Thatched

As with the previous card, I inked up a panel of cardstock with Distress Oxides in Cracked Pistachio, Iced Spruce, Rustic Wilderness and Pine Needles before running it through the die cutting machine with the embossing folder.  I then took a fine sanding block and lightly sanded off the thatched pattern to help it pop off the page.

I die cut three layers of cardstock with the Slimline Waves Die, adhered them together and then adhered to the embossed panel.  This was fixed to a slimline card blank.

I coloured the cheeky pandas from the Panda Butt Clear Stamp Set with copic markers using C9, 7, 5 and C0,00 plus a touch of R30 for the cheeks then cut them out and popped them on the card front with some foam tape.  I also stamped and cut out one of the bamboo images for the panda to climb on.

I finished off the card with a sentiment stamped and heat embossed - I used the Butterflies Clear Stamp Set, the font is just perfect.  I'm trying to make more generic cards, I'm drowning in birthday cards I've made so many!

Back soon with a first attempt with Zig markers.

  1. I really, really, really love this card. I have all the components except for the embossing folder...so guess what I'm buying next? I think the thatched look really compliments the panda images. When I first saw the embossing slimline folders I was not impressed but now I can envision many more projects. Thanks for inspiring me...again!
