Mountain Scene

I think pretty much any sentiment would work for this card but as I always struggle with cards for the blokes I went with a generic one from the You're Birthday stamp set instead.

I inked up one of the mountain stamps form the new 6 x 6 Create a Scene - Mountains stamp from Whimsy Stamps and coloured it with copic markers.  I started with the sky and laid down BV31, R30, R00, YR30, YR000, BV000 and finished off with R0000.  I then used BG72, B41, BG000 ad BG0000 for the water, adding in deeper shading for the mountain and tree reflections before blending over again with BG000 and BG0000.  The mountains were coloured with T3, T1 and T0 and the trees with a mix of G28, G24, G20, YG67, YG63 and YG61.  I also lighted up some areas with YG03.

I die cut the image and a larger panel with the Notched Rectangles die set.

I stamped a piece of pale blue card with the Farmhouse Shiplap Background stamp with a slightly darker shade of blue ink, die cut a scalloped border using the Kinetic Straight Basics die set and mounted this on to pale grey card.

Birfday Dragon

How cute is this Birfday Dragon from Whimsy Stamps mini release?  I just 💗 him so much!

I coloured him up with copic markers and used the following colours

V09, V06, V05, V01; E13, E11, E00; YR68, YR65, YR61; YR24, Y26, Y13, Y11

I die cut the scalloped panel from the Quilted Rainbow Inlaid Die  then masked the edges so I could get that white border.  I inked the sky with Tumbled Glass and Shaded Lilac, and the grassy area with Twisted Citron and Bundled Sage.  I then went in with green copic markers and added some flicks to the grass.

I stamped out the sentiment then die cut the clouds from the Up in the Clouds die set and inked the edges with Tumbled Glass.

I have one more card to share from this latest release which I'll do in the next day or so.

Stay safe!

Slimline Gnome Witch

I'm nearly all done with Halloween cards, just one more to post later in the month then I'm moving into Christmas card frenzy, aka my happy place!

I stamped, coloured and fussy cut the new Gnome Witch Rubber Stamp that's part of today's Whimsy Stamps mini release.

I used the following copic colours:

Cat: C9, 7, 5, 3
Skin: E04, 21, 00
Hair: V17, 15, 12
Clothing: C9.7.5; YG09, 17, 05
Broom: E27, 21; YR27, 23, 21

Anyhoo, back to this card which has a whole heap of ink blending.  I started off with a panel large enough for the new Slimline Wobbly Windows Die and inked it up using Twisted Citron, Squeezed Lemonade, Carbed Pumpkin, Worn Lipstick, Dusty Concord, Chipped Sapphire and a touch of Black Soot.  I then added splatters, yes you read that right, splatters (they are s-l-o-w-l-y growing on me though they still mess with my "I don't like messy" vibe lol.)  I splattered with water then my new favourite Brusho SprinkleIt in copper,  This. stuff. is. fabulous!  The shine once dry is just fab, I think you can see it in the pic below.

I die cut the panel once it was dry and popped it on a black card base with foam tape.  I stamped the sentiment on the centre window then adhered these flat to the card base.  I finished off with some die cut bats from the Bats and Bubbles Border Die Set.  These dinky lil' bats are just perfect additions to a Halloween card.

Polka Dot Pals Beau

I've used the new Polka Dot Pals Beau clear stams for today's card and teamed it with simple inking and die cutting.

I started off by inking up a panel of white card stock with Distress Inks.  I didn't use Bristol Smooth because I wanted more of a watercoloured look and plain card stock grabs the ink quickly so I managed to get the textured look easily.  I used Stormy Sky, Picked Raspberry, Tattered Rose and a touch of Scattered Straw.  Once it was dry I trimmed it to fit on to the scalloped frame from the  Quilted Rainbow Inlaid Die which I had cut from white card.  I used one of the bunting banners from the  Slimline Bunting Borders dies to make a perch for her to sit on, and used one of the  Everyday Banner Digi Sentiments to help balance the card.

I coloured beau with copic markers:

Skin E04, 11, 21, 00, 000, R20
Eyes B97, 91
Hair E27, 25, 50
Blouse and shoes E43, 41, 40
Dungarees and hat V06, 04, 01

Postage Window Die

Whimsy Stamps have a new mini release, and this fun Postage Window Die and Halloween Expressions Stencil is part of the release.

I started off by inking up a panel of Bristol Smooth card stock with Distress Oxides in Squeezed Lemomade, Carved Pumpkin and Worn Lipstick.  I applied the ink heavily so the colours would really pop.  Once it was dry I cut out one the Postage Window die from making paper and fixed this on to the panel.  I then inked through the Halloween Expressions Stencil with Memento black ink and a tiny make up brush.  I stamped the "Boo" a few times to fill in the blanks.  I then die cut the Postage Die from black card stock and adhered in place.

I then wanted something for the middle of the card so dug out the  Build a Pumpkin Patch Die Set and coloured a couple of pumpkins with copic markers before stencilling on the expressions.  I used YR18, YR16, Y15, Y11, YG09, YG17, YG03

Vintage Wallpaper

This newly released Vintage Wallpaper Stamp is just beautiful!  I'm thinking it was released for Halloween but it will be perfect for so many occasions.  I decided to pair this beauty with the Butterflies Fluttering Stamp Set to make this thinking of you card.  I used an old River Rock SU! ink pad to ink up the background stamp, I forgot just how much I love this colour.

I coloured this butterflies with the following copic markers

C9, C5; E29, 25, 23; YR 18, 07, 04, Y38, Y35, Y13

I used the Pierced and Stitched Circles Dies to die cut a vellum circle to help the butterflies pop, and finished off with a heat embossed sentiment from the stamp set and some black Nuvo drops that I attached to the card once they were dry.

Bundles of Hugs

I'm taking a break from Halloween cards today, and decided to go with this cute little squirrel from Whimsy Stamps' latest release.  The stamp set is Bundles of Hugs and features three cute little autumnal squirrels and sentiments.

I masked off a circle and inked the space up with Distress Oxides - Worn Lipstick, Tattered Rose and Squeezed Lemonade.  I then coloured the image with copic markers and fussy cut it out and popped it on the card.  The card panel was cut with the Wonky Stitched Rectangles Die Set and a sentiment from the Cross Stitched Sentiments finished off the card.

Copic colours used:

Squirred: E17, 15, 13, 11, 42, 50
Scarf and flower: Y17, YR31, Y11; RV04, R42, R32

I have another post tomorrow with the last card I made for this mini release.

Slimline Hill House Die Take 2

Following on from my Slimline card I posted yesterday, I decided to make a standard US A2 card to show just how versatile that Slimline Hill House die is just by chopping off the bottom of the card!

Instead of going with the black house, I die cut it from pale grey card and shaded it with copic markers - C5, 3, 1, 0 for the house and C9,7 for the roof.  As with yesterday's card I used scraps of yellow card to back the windows to make the house pop.

I mounted the house on to a sheet of the sublime new Haunted 6 x 6 Paper Pack.  This pack is just SO perfect, they do all the work .... no muss, no fuss and no inking! I die cut the panel with my all time favourite Wonky Stitched Rectangles Die Set

I finished off the bottom of the card with black and grey card and die cut the edges with the Grass and Cloud Edger Set

That cute little owl is from the paper sheet that I used for the backing, he was part of the left overs and well, I couldn't put him in the bin now, could I?

The sentiments are from the You're My Boo stamp set that was heat embossed on to black card stock.

Slimline Hill House Die

It's no secret that I'm not a fan of Halloween ... well I wasn't till this month's DT kit from Whimsy Stamps landed and I wore myself out making Halloween cards.  I couldn't leave them alone.  I love the drama, the colours and the hours and hours of fun I had making these cards.  I'll be posting them over a few days, but had to start with this one because ...... this Slimline Hill House die is just the best thing since sliced bread.  Those designers at Whimsy really had a stroke of genius when they started the whole Slimline Die craze last year and I think this is their best one to date!

This card was so incredibly simple to make!  I started off by inking a panel of Bristol Smooth card stock with Distress Inks in Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade, Seedless Preserves, Dusty Concord and Chipped Sapphire.  Once it was dry I inked over some clouds with white pigment ink to give a spooky feel.  I then die cut the Hill House die from black card stock and adhered yellow scraps of card to the back for the windows and door.  I added some highlights with white gel pen, then adhered the die cut in place on the inked panel.

I then coloured in a square of white card with C9, 7, 5 and 3 markers to resemble a wonky sign and stamped on the sentiment from the  Got Peepers Stamp Set then heat embossed it and cut it out, keeping the edges wonky.  I finished off the card with a couple of pumpkins and leaves that I die cut from the Build a Pumpkin Patch Die Set, which I coloured with copic markers before popping in place with some foam tape.
