A whole lotta happy

A friend asked at the last minute for a rainbow card for a lad, and when I say last minute .... I mean a couple of hours ago.  Now then, it takes me a-g-e-s to make a card .... and that's when I have a plan .... so throw this at me and I'm flummoxed (granny brain syndrome here, just saying).

Anyhoo, these fabulous Slimline Bunting Borders dies were sat on my desk, and one a-ha moment, some copic colouring for the bunting and this great sentiment from the Happy Everything Clear Stamp Set and job done.

Apologies if the pic is a bit blurred, she literally snatched it off the board before I was even finished photographing it 😂

Boo!

When I first saw this new Nature's Skeleton Stamp Set from Whimsy Stamps I was absolutely positively going to make a masculine autumny themed card and then this happened.  What's going on with me and halloween cards? I've got a load made for upcoming releases and that is so not me.  I blame it on the ink blending kick I'm on, who woulda thought I would go from pretty and pastels to this?  Though pretty and pastels are still my first love ha!

So, I started off by inking a piece of Bristol Smooth with Twisted Citron in the centre, moving out to Cracked Pistachio, Mowed Lawn and then finishing off with Black Soot.  Once the panel was dry I stamped the Natures Skeleton with Memento Tuxedo Black in a sort of pattern, used my favourite Wonky Stitched Rectangles Die Set to cut the centre and card panel out, then layered the centre on to black card and popped that up with foam tape.

I stamped that CUTE cat from the Got Peepers Stamp Set and coloured the eyes to match the background then fussy cut it out.  I die cut the BOO using the Bold ABC Die Set from black and white card so I could put a white shadow behind the word to make it stand out and finished off with a sentiment from the  the Sleepy Hollow stamp set, and some tiny bats from the Bats & Bubbles border die set

Slimline Peekaboo Die

Whimsy Stamps have release the most amazing Slimline Scallop Peekaboo Die as part of the latest mini release, and. it's. fabulous!  I decided to do innie and outie scenes, so started off with the front by die cutting the scallop and peekaboo elements then masking off around the doors so I could do some inking with distress oxides.  I used Tumbled Glass, Story Skies and Faded Jeans.  I didn't add water splatters because I'm really not a fan of uneven and messy, so I added in some stars and snow with a white gel pen.

I then die cut the Christmas scene from the Mountain Majesty Die Set and adhered in place and then finished off with a heat embossed sentiment from the Holiday Mini Sentiments stamps

For the inside, I repeated the background from the front of the card, then stamped out those sweet little birds from the Tweety Pie Clear Stamps and coloured them with copic markers.  I used the following copic markers:

Birds: E42, 41, 40: W3, 1, 0
Pinks: R85. 83, 81
Purle: BV04, 02, 01
Branches E59, 27, 25, 21

I love how this card turned out, this is one slimline die that is going to get used a LOT!

General Store

This is the third card I made using goodies from the latest Whimsy Stamps mini release.  The main stamp is General Store, which I coloured with copic markers.  Colours used were:

Greys: C5, 3, 1, 0, 00; W5, 3, 1, 0, 00
Reds: R29, 27, 35, 43
Browns: E13, 11, 53, 50
Yellows: Y15, YR30
Greens: G29, 46, 43, 40; YG67, 63, 61, 11; YG05, 03, 01

I stamped both background layers using the Farmhouse Shiplap and Gingham Background stamps.  The wood effect was done by stamping in grey ink onto a paler grey cardstock then blending in a light touch of the grey ink to soften the look.

I coloured the bunting from the Slimline Bunting Borders dies with copics, shading so the darker colour was at the top.  I finished the card off with a sentiment from the  Everyday Banner Digi Sentiments and some black Nuvo drops

Fairy Dreams

Fairy Dreams is one of the new stamp sets release by Whimsy Stamps yesterday, isn't she just the sweetest?  The stamp set has three fairies plus sentiments.

I started off by die cutting the Quilted Rainbow Inlaid Die from white card.  I then masked off the edges to leave the frame white, then inked up the centre with Distress Oxides starting with Broken China, Shaded Lilac, Spun Sugar, Squeezed Lemonade and ending with Peacock Feathers. I spattered the background with water and white gouache and left to dry.

I then stamped and coloured the fairy, using the following Copic colours:

Skin: E04, 11, 01, 000
Hair: E47, 44, 42, 40
Top: N3, 1, 0
Shorts: RV63, 52, 000
Wings: BG0000, YG0000

After fussy cutting the fairy I applied Distress Glitter to the wings.  I also applied the glitter to the edges of the clouds, these are from the Up in the Clouds die set.  I stamped a sentiment from the Everyday Mini Sentiments stamps on to one of the clouds and finished off with some rhinestones.

Glitz and Glam Halloween

I can't believe I'm doing this ..... a Halloween card!  This is the girl that does not get or like Halloween.  Give me sweet, cute and pretty any day which is why my card is more glam than Halloween 😂

Whimsy Stamps have a mini release being launched today and this Spooky Large Word Die is in the release.   I wanted glitz and glam so cut the word out from black glitter card.  I cut the bat out a second time to add a bit of dimension to the card because it's such a simple, basic card and you can never have enough glitz and glam, yes?

I inked up a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock using Distress Oxieds in Dried Marigold, Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserves.  I went in quite heavily with the shading.  I then splattered some water and white gouache on to the panel and once it was dry I die cut it using my favourite Wonky Stitched Rectangles Die Set.

I matted this on to black cardstock before attaching to a white card base and finished off with a few rhinestones on the spider, the web and the bat's eyes.

I'll be back tomorrow with another card from the new release and no, it's not Halloween.  I need to go and lie down in a darkened room after this one, I tell ya!

Otterly happy birthday!

I love nothing better than getting more than one look from a stamp set, and I sure got that  by using the accessory stamps in  this new Polka Dot Pals Eileen stamp set from Whimsy Stamps

Using the fabulous  Card Builder Window Die Set I die cut a panel from white card stock.  I then used the Pierced and Stitched Circles Die Set to cut a circle in the panel.  I inked up a piece of card with Distress Oxides – Peacock Feathers and Tumbled Glass, to pop behind the top panel.

I stamped out the otters and coloured them with copic markers – E43, 41, 40 and E93 for the belly.  I fussy cut these out and adhered them to the front of the card with some foam tape.

I finished off with a sentiment from the Adopt don't shop stamp set that I heat embossed on to a piece of turquoise card to match the card base and finished off with some sparkly sequins.

Happy Hamsters and Bunting Borders

I used the  Slimline Bunting Border Dies on today's standard A2 card, I just love how versatile these borders are that they work for all sizes of cards!

I kept this card really simple, letting that fantastic Birthday Celebration Paper Pack do all the work.  Love the pop the black on white gives!  I die cut the patterned paper and the base of the card with the  Wonky Stitched Rectangles Die Set then stamped a sentiment at the bottom of the card with the Everyday Mini Sentiments stamps.

I finished off with the sweet little cupcake hamster from the new Happy Hamsters Stamp Set.  There are matching dies available but I fussy cut mine as I haven't gotten round to ordering them yet.

New Slimline Bunting Dies and Gnome Birthdays!

I swooned when I saw these Slimline Bunting Border Dies just released by Whimsy Stamps, SA-WOONED!!  And pairing them with the Gnome Birthdays Stamps and I zoomed right to my happy place,

I started off this card by inking a panel with Tumbled Glass and Cracked Pistachio Oxides, then die cut the panel using the Slimline Card Builder Die Set because .... wonky stitching!  I wasn't too crazy about the grass from the inking, it looked rather flat so I dug out some copics and got flicking.

I coloured then fussy cut the gnomes and mushrooms/toadstools also with copics:

Reds: R29, 27, 35, 43
Blues: B39, 37, 24, 12
Greys: C5, 3, 1; W5, 3, 1
Cake: RV25, 14, 13; E53, 50; E13, 11, 00
Grass: G46, YG17, G14

I also coloured the bunting using the red and blue colour combo's above.  I love, love, LOVE that bunting set, just saying!

I stamped a sentiment from the awesome You're Birthday Clear Stamp Set then adhered all the elements in place.

I had an absolute blast making this card with all the newest goodies from Whimsy Stamps!
