Thank goodness I had loads of cards made up for samples else I would not have had anything at all to post on my blog this week or next. Why does DIY in one room (one not even in use mind you) result in the entire house looking like a bomb site? I am at my wits end – I hate upheaval and untidiness and things out of place (in fact I am anal about it lol) so I am now soooo over this conversion. Wish we had never started now and wish even more it was all done but sadly we are waiting on deliveries so things have ground to a halt till the new door arrives. Typical I choose the door with the longest delivery time!
Okay so enough whining, I’ll get on to my card. I’ve used Feathered Friends from Lili of the Valley. Again I have no idea of the copic colours used as this was one of the images that I coloured up last month for advertising.
The paper is from the Forever Friends Christmas pad, the sentiment is Christmas Circular Sentiments from Lili of the valley, the gorge gingham ribbon and corner metal embellishment is from Wild Orchid Crafts and the felt poinsettia is a bit chopped off a Christmas garland I got from Tesco a couple of years ago in their sale (I think I paid 50p per garland – me loves a bargain lol).
That’s it from me for now, I am going to try and dampen down some of the dust (even a cuppa tastes more of cement than it does tea lol).
hugs
Oh, so nice Cristmas card! It looks fantastic in Summer time!! Love the image!

The card is so beautiful Bev. Another gorgeous creation, that´s for sure.
ReplyDeleteAbout the dust, just think about, how great it´ll be, when it´s all done, then you´ll know, it´s been worth it. But I sure knows, what you mean, as we´ve been onto the same here for the last year almost, but everytime I see something finished, I´m still glad, to have it done, and I can manage another week again LOL.
Have a great week ahead and hopefully your door will show up then. Good luck with all of it hun.

ReplyDeleteI hope your door arrives soon and you can get all cleaned up again! I imagine that's very stressful, but I'd love the chance to decorate my own home!!! Being in military housing (from WW II no less!) can get very depressing, lol!
That's the Christmas spirit!! Love the image and all the rest of this card too!
ReplyDeleteI do hope your door will turn up quickly so the rest can be done in a jiffy. Every now and then a house needs a renovation. It's going to be better than it was Bev.

ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous card! Love the image....great job!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the house being a mess from remodel. Last winter, I had wood floors put down in my entire house - every single room - except I had tile put in the bathrooms. It was a disaster for two weeks! One of my clothes dressers was in the living room (which contained all my undies) and one of the other dressers was in the kitchen, etc., etc. I had professonal cleaning people come in for the big clean-up, wiping down walls, wood trim, cleaning all the new floors. Fortunately, I had huge plastic tarps in the walk-in closets covering all the clothes, shoes and purses - and I even put plastic over all items in every single drawer in the house. In the end, it was quite worth it - but certainly not while we were tore up for those few weeks. I sympathize with you - because your time frame is much longer than 2 weeks. Remember, the end result will be worth it!!

ReplyDeletefabulous Christmas card Bev - love the colours and that image is soooo cute - don't worry about the conversion - you'll love it when it's done and it's amazing how much dust a Dyson can pick up ... are the doggies grey instead of brown? (says I, who is having a new floor in the hall/corridor on Tuesday!! but we've already got a white dog so we don't notice plaster dust on him! hugs Mary G x
