I am ashamed of the pile of uninked rubber that I have (okay so it’s more than a pile – more like a couple of drawers full blush). This little cutie fell on the floor when I was rummaging through the drawers so I decided to ink it up instead of throwing back in to keep the rest of the neglected stamps company for another year lol. Whilst I was doing this blog post I took a quick circuit of the challenge blogs and see this card fits a few challenges: Moving along with the times – Christmas, Christmas Cards all year round – a card that is any shape other than the standard 4 1/4 X 5 1/2.
I have used last year’s Magnolia Christmas papers, I love these colours so much. The Joy sentiment is another from the bargain Kaiserkraft Christmas Sentiments that I picked up from Oyster Stamps. The round sentiment is from Catslife Press. I ordered from them direct and was really impressed with the service and the prices and the postage was incredibly reasonable too.
A close up of the yummy snowflakes. The die is Marianne D, I just applied Stardust Stickles to the snowflakes after I had cut them out (then because I am so impatient proceeded to get wet Stickles everywhere and had to start over rofl). The rhinestone spacers and brads are from The Hobby House.
The big flat-backed rhinestones in the corners I found in one of my bits ‘n bobs drawers. Can’t ever remember getting them so don’t have a clue who makes them.
The white cotton lace is from Wild Orchid Crafts, love the pointy pattern, it reminds me of icicles. I distressed around the edges with Sir Tim’s distressing tool, then applied some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink then slathered on the old Stickles.
I coloured the image with Promarkers and used:
Skin: Apricot, Oatmeal, Blush, and cheeks coral
Hair: Walnut, shale, satin
Gloves, trousers: Khaki, pastel beige, ivory
Top, hat: Petrol Blue, duck egg and grey green
Shoes: Shale, Satin
I also used a black Prismacolour pencil to darken the shadows and a Sharpie white poster paint pen for the highlights on her cheeks.
This card is for sale on Ebay till 26th September along with a few other cards.
Phew, that was a marathon and a half.
Thanks for stopping by,
this is stunning...I'm so glad you didn't stick her back in the drawer or we would never have seen your beautiful creation.
