After the Acetate challenge last week we have a nice easy sketch by Dawny P to follow for this week’s Just Magnolia challenge. And I have once again made an easel card (getting to be so predictable lol)
I forgot I had this stamp, I was mooching the other night and found a bag of stamps I got at the NEC last November that I can’t even remember buying!! So I get to play with my “new” Christmas Magnolias in time for Christmas, unlike last year when they got the Christmas stamps out so late it seemed a waste of time even buying them! Hope they get their act together this year (can’t see it though as we’re almost in autumn and the summer kit has just come out lol).
I have used Memory Box papers (Spearmint) from Quixotic Paperie – I am in love with these papers, every pack I have bought is just so gorgeous. I coloured the image with distress inks again and ….. shock, horror much much prefer using Copics and Promarkers. I never thought I would say that lol. What a traitor lol.
The sentiment on the front of the card is Anna Griffin, the sentiment on the base was in a grab-bag I picked up off Ebay. No make or name sadly. I went round the edges of the paper with my sewing machine and then applied some Distress Paint.
The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and I have used 35mm Wild Roses, 30mm Wild roses, 15mm roses, 6mm rose buds and 4mm rose buds. The aqua roses were pale green so I spritzed them with Glimmer Mist to change the colour a bit. The white roses have been spritzed with Marshmallow Glimmer Mist. The pearls are also from Wild Orchid Crafts.
A quick update on my hubby. He is doing okay, still very tired but looking so much better than he did last Friday. We’ve elected to see a Cardiologist privately as the wait on the NHS is quite a long one and we both want to get this sorted asap. We are both so afraid this happens again so the sooner they find out what caused his heart to go haywire the better. Thanks so much to all that have emailed, phoned, sent cards and even flowers (and some lottery tickets too lol) – you are all so amazing xxxxx
Thanks for stopping by,
Great card again Bev.

Beautiful card Bev love those spearmint coloured papers. So glad to hear hubby is feeling better and dont blame you for wanting to find out what caused the problem earlier rather that later. Take care and have a great week end.

Good to hear your hubby is feeling better, and once you've seen the cardiologist you can ask to have the teatment on the nhs that way you queue jumps, a bit silly really its all about getting into the system. Love the nhs but they waste so much money and time it could really do with less bureocracy (sorry can't spell that) and more patient care, if only the pen pushers would realise it.
ReplyDeleteLove your card and those papers are so pretty too.
Stunning card Bev!!! The colour is gorgeous and perfectly embellished. best wishes to your Hubby. Caroline x

Hi Bev
ReplyDeletelove your card, what a nice surprize to find stamps that you had forgot you had purchased lol. I know what you mean about magnolia, what I don't think they realize is that cardmaker's need to start making their cards months before the event (ie christmas cards need to be started in October etc). I am glad your hubby is improving from last week-end, but as for you having to see a cardiologist privately (because the N.H.S. is a long wait), I think this is appalling, WHY ? did the hospitial not find out last week-end what/why his heart went haywire. You must both be terrified that it could happen again, when you have no idea why it happended in the first place. ???? What happens if you have not got the funds to pay for this, do these hospitials/doctors keep their fingers crossed that nothing happens to the patient/s while they have a long wait on the N.H.S. to see a cardiologist. ? It might be worth speaking to your local M.P. regarding your frighting situation that you are in. I can understand fully why you felt that you have had to go private, because the heart & heart problems are not things that you can hang around on waiting list for.
Hope that things improve for your hubby.
huge hugs
Sandra (craftynan)
Absolutely and totally breathtaking! WoW!

Hugs, Sheila
This is the greatest christmascard Bev!! Really love the colours!
ReplyDeleteGreetz Yvonne
Hi Bev, Gorgeous card! Love the papers and fab Tilda image. I often find stamps that I have forgotten i've bought. Think it might be because I buy too many lol!
ReplyDeleteSo glad your hubby is feeling better. I don't blame you for wanting to get it sorted quickly. I work for the NHS and even though the waiting lists are better now than they were when I first started 16 years ago the wait to be seen when you are worried seems forever.
Hope you have a great weekend.
Lisa x

Wonderful card, Bev!
ReplyDeleteWish you a very nice weekend - happy stamping! Tini
Aw, Bev, what can I say? I'm truly at a loss for words- it's so beautiful and when i see one done in my fav colour I'm stopped in my tracks, picking jaw off floor. When I think you can't get any better you just do!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad your husband is feeling better and I so agree with you, it's much better to "go private" and have the problem addressed quickly although I always think it's a terrible indictment on the Health Service that people have to do that. Hope the Consultant can see him quickly and diagnose the problem.
Take care
Alice (beemer)
Another beauty, love the soft colours with this image.
ReplyDeleteGlad your hubby is recovering albeit slowly and at least if he see's the consultant your minds will be put at rest.

Scary times, Bev! I lift up prayers on your hubby's behalf and also for you!!! I do pray that you feel God's Hand upon your heart and mind as He heals your hubby. Nothing happens without God allowing it - and believe me, I've struggled with that (I've had cancer twice). Jesus ALONE healed me the 2nd time (it was there...then it was GONE!) I share this with you to strengthen you and bring HOPE : ) 'Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God." Mark 10:27
ReplyDelete...and for your card - simply marvelous!!! I'm with ya on the copics : )
Lots and lots of love ~
